…but when it comes to the technical stuff, you’re not sure where to start. How do I record? What microphone should I use? How do I publish an episode? Why does my audio sound bad? You have a lot of questions, and a lot to learn.
Or perhaps you simply don’t have the time to manage the post-production and publishing process.
That’s where I step in. I will show you what equipment you need, teach you how to record, and polish your audio into a radio-quality final product. All you do is record your show, and send me the audio files. I take care of the rest.
Content is king when it comes to artistic endeavors, and podcasting is no exception. You can have an amazing sounding show, but if it’s stale and boring, no one is going to stick around.
As podcasts grow in popularity, however, the standard of quality gets higher and higher. With an estimated half a million active podcasts (and counting), how will you cut through the noise? With so many other quality shows, why should listeners suffer through poor sound quality, inconsistent levels, noisy backgrounds, and other audio gremlins?
I work with you to record clean sounding tracks, then take everything to the next level in the post-production process.
Are you totally lost when it comes to selecting equipment, how to hook it up, and how to use it? Have no fear! I will help you select the right equipment, based on your needs and budget, then I will coach you through recording high-quality audio.
I remove excessive “umm’s” and “uh’s”, lip smacks, plosives (pops), coughs, and awkward pauses. I focus on ensuring the show flows smoothly at all times with natural pacing. I take care to present hosts and guests in a positive light, making them sound confident and articulate, even if they were a little nervous during the recording. When asked, I will suggest cutting portions of the show to keep things on topic and ensure you are capturing the listener’s attention at all times.
In this step I use a variety of tools such as EQ, compression, and automation to balance levels, remove distracting background noise, mic bleed (crosstalk), and make everyone sound like a pro. During this process I also bring the final volume of the audio up to an industry-standard level.
Finally, I assemble the polished audio into the complete package, creating smooth transitions for music, intros, outros, pre/mid/post-roll promotions, and any other elements. Then I deliver the finished audio file: all you have to do is publish it!
Hey, I do that too! I will upload the episode to your podcast host, write up show notes, and publish the show according to your release schedule. I have a strong background in writing, so in most cases I can write a comprehensive summary of the episode including any relevant links.
This is a list of shows I produce. I edit, mix, and master the audio for all shows, and for select shows I also record voiceover, music beds, special FX, and even co-host.

My name is Trent Jones and I am a Dallas/Fort Worth based podcast producer, editor, and audio post-production engineer.
I developed an interest in audio at 14, when I learned to use my handheld cassette player to record the songs I was writing on my guitar. I figured out that I could record my guitar on the left channel, and overdub my voice and other instruments on the right channel, mixing them together to create a multitrack recording. Since then, I’ve been fascinated by all aspects of audio production: writing, performance, recording, and mixing. I’ve been working with digital audio for over 10 years.
I began working on podcasts in 2017, applying my music and audio skills to the spoken word.
When I’m not working in the studio, you can find me teaching people to lift weights at Fort Worth Strength & Conditioning or hiking with my wife and two dogs.
